2015 African Games champions, Egypt’s Omar Assar and Dina Meshref retained their top spot as the continent’s highest ranked players following the latest ranking released for October by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

Also from the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) ranking released after the African Games, Assar and Meshref remained on top of the rating.

From all the continental tournaments staged this year in Egypt, Cameroon and Congo Brazzaville, Assar and Meshref claimed the singles titles while they have also secured their places at next year’s Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.

In the ITTF October ranking, Assar moved up  by one step from 36 to 35 while Meshref moved up from 128 to 116.

2014 ITTF Star Player, Aruna Quadri of Nigeria dropped from 43 to 45 in the world, while former African champion, Segun Toriola returned to the world ranking.
